Yes, I've dropped off the face of the earth! Not really, but I have taken a temporary leave of absence from the running world. More on that in a minute, but first a recap of the last 6 months.
L and I finished the Seacoast Half Marathon in record time and went right into training for our next half, which WAS going to be the Great Bay Half on April 11. Our main goal was to run through the winter. We got through January ok, but then I found out that..... I'm Pregnant!
We got up to a 9 mile run, which I have to cut down to 8 miles because I was so tired...hummmm, maybe my body was telling me something!!
Once I found out I was pregnant, we stopped training for a half marathon, but kept running 3x a week, 3 or so miles. I have to say it was not fun. Kinda like begin a beginner runner, but with all kinds of new pains (I won't go into detail, but it was not fun!) By April, I was walking more than running and finally threw in the running towel at 16 weeks pregnant. I know many women run throughout their pregnancy, but I was so uncomforable, that I couldn't keep it up.
So now it's May - I'm 20 weeks pregnant, due October 7. I'm still exercising, but not running. I do prenatal yoga, pilates (with modifications) and walk. My hope is that I can "just start running" again in the fall with "Buddy." (Buddy is our nickname for the little guy/gal.)
I will post occasional baby news throughout the summer. In the fall you can follow my journey back into running!!
